Word Master is an open-source Wordle clone that lets you play unlimited rounds instead of being restricted to one puzzle per day. If you’ve ever finished your daily Wordle in two minutes and wished you could keep going, Word Master is the answer. Same rules, same green-yellow-grey feedback, same five-letter word format — but you can play again immediately after solving (or failing) each puzzle.
Built by developer Katherine Peterson as an open-source project on GitHub, Word Master faithfully recreates the Wordle experience. You have six attempts to guess a five-letter word. After each guess, letters are coloured: green means the letter is correct and in the right position, yellow means the letter exists in the word but in a different position, and grey means the letter isn’t in the word at all. The on-screen keyboard updates to show which letters you’ve used and their status.
What makes Word Master particularly appealing is the pace. Without the one-per-day restriction, you can practice strategies, test opening words, and genuinely improve your solving technique. Wordle enthusiasts debate endlessly about the best opening word — ADIEU, CRANE, SLATE, ARISE, STARE — and Word Master gives you the space to actually test these theories across dozens of games in a single sitting. You’ll quickly develop a feel for which second and third guesses extract the most information from the letter pool.
The game uses a comprehensive five-letter word list that includes both common and obscure words, keeping you on your toes. The clean, minimal interface mirrors Wordle’s iconic design, with dark mode support and a distraction-free layout. Being open source means it’s free from ads, tracking, or any other annoyances — just pure word-guessing gameplay. It’s the Wordle experience that never makes you wait until tomorrow.
