Google Lotería Doodle Game – Play the Multiplayer Mexican Bingo Online

Google Lotería is an interactive multiplayer Doodle that brings the traditional Mexican card game to life in your browser. Released on December 9, 2019, to celebrate 106 years since Lotería was officially copyrighted in Mexico, it was only Google’s second-ever multiplayer Doodle experience — letting you play against friends in private matches or random opponents from around the world.

Lotería itself dates back centuries, originating in Italy in the 15th century before travelling to Spain and reaching Mexico in 1769. Think of it as bingo’s more colourful cousin: instead of numbered balls, a caller draws from a deck of 54 beautifully illustrated cards featuring iconic images like El Gallo (the rooster), La Luna (the moon), El Corazón (the heart), and La Sirena (the mermaid). Players mark matching images on their tabla (board) with tokens — traditionally raw beans or pinto beans — and race to complete a winning pattern.

Google collaborated with five Mexican and Mexican-American illustrators to reimagine the classic card artwork: Chabaski, Cecilia Ruiz, Luis Pinto, Loris Lora, and Vals each brought their own artistic flair while honouring the game’s folk art heritage. They even added some surprise cards you won’t find in traditional decks, including El Buscador (the search engine), El Ajolote (the axolotl), and El Emoji. Popular Mexican YouTuber Luisito Comunica voices the card announcer, calling out each image as it’s drawn.

The game captures everything that makes Lotería special — the vibrant colours, the excitement of racing to fill your board, and that satisfying moment when you shout “¡Lotería!” before anyone else. When you win, cards scatter across the screen in a celebration reminiscent of old Windows Solitaire victories.

How To Play Google Lotería

Click play to start a game. Choose between a private match with friends or a random match against other online players.

You’ll receive a tabla — a 4×4 grid of 16 cards with different images. The announcer will draw cards one by one from the deck.

When a called card matches one on your board, click it to place a bean marker. You need to mark images quickly before your opponents.

Complete the required pattern before everyone else — this might be a row, column, diagonal, or full board depending on the round.

Click the Lotería button the moment you complete the pattern to claim victory. First player to do so wins the round.
